6th grade students completed these beautiful Precisionist paintings.They gridded both their canvas boards as well as the painting they copied. They learned about the principles of color, measuring and drawing proportionately using a grid. .

These charcoal drawings were inspired by the Tronie portraits common to the paintings of the Dutch Golden Age. We also looked at contemporary artists including Chuck Close and Nina Katchadourian. Students chose their props and designed the photo shoot.

In this sculpture elective class, 11th and 12th grade students designed a low relief sculpture. They learned to stack, fold, curl and twist paper into an abstract or figurative motif. Other collage elements were also added.

In this color class elective, students designed a mandala. The color scheme included primary, secondary and tertiary colors and showed a range of shades, tints and prismatic colors.
